25th Annual Hunger Hike

Sunday, October 4, 2015
Victor Ashe Park – Picnic Shelter
4901 Bradshaw Road

Length: 2.3 miles
Registration: 2:00 PM
Hike Starts: 2:30 PM

How to Participate

Three easy steps:

  1. Download or stop by The Love Kitchen and pick up a Hunger Hike Sign Up sheet.
  2. Collect donors to sponsor you to walk in this event (donations can be any amount).
  3. Mail or drop the donations off at The Love Kitchen by October 1st.

*** NOTE *** If you can’t get your donations turned in by October 1st, you can bring your sponsor sheet and donations to the walk on October 4th but you won’t be in the drawing for door prizes that day. Just drop everything off with one of our volunteers at our table underneath the “Love Kitchen” banner.

You can walk with our group from the Love Kitchen but if you want to bring along a team from work, church, civic group, etc., that’s even better. Prizes are awarded in various categories to the organizations that have the most walkers and raise the most money. Every individual who raises at least $15.00 will receive a commemorative item and be eligible for a chance to win one of the available prize packages ranging from tickets to live shows, gift baskets, and tickets to specialty locations (for example: Tennessee Smokies games, restaurants, spas, etc.). Actual prizes will be announced at the event.

So bring you, your group, your coworkers, your family, everyone you can and come walk with us. Remember, everybody at the Love Kitchen is a volunteer so every cent you collect goes directly to helping people. Your efforts will help us continue the mission of Helen Ashe and Ellen Turner, “the Love Kitchen sisters” and their dream of providing meals and love to everyone who needs it.

See you there!!!

The Hunger Hike is an annual fundraiser for local food pantries organized by the Emergency Food Helpers. 100% of the funds raised are given to local food banks and organizations in the Knoxville area.
